FOREBAY TANK
  The forebay tank allows sand and debris to be separated from the water in the power canal before it enters the pressure pipe.
The tank is separated into two sections by a removable screen. A short tube acts as an overflow, returning excess water to the stream, and as a cleanout plug when removed. This simple system works very well. On the other side of the screen is the actual entrance to the pressure pipe. Our tank is 85 cm wide 1.5 m long and 65 cm deep. This can easily handle flows of up to 1000 liters per minute. A lockable top prevents vandalism.
